Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist who currently competing in the UFC flyweight division. She is older than fellow UFC Fighter and the former UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as an Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in 2003, at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the tournament and defeated Suzane Milliner in a unanimous vote. Antonina followed it up and won a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 and a gold award in 2011, and was the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia was first introduced to the professional world in at the age of 2003. She took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships in 2012 as well as The Lion Fight Lightweight Championships 2016 and both the WMC World Championships and the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final fight took place in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. The victory was a unanimous one. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut came in 2002 at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She was victorious in the second round TKO after which she won 2 additional fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to earn a 3-0 record. Shevchenko committed herself to kickboxing after which she took a lengthy absence of MMA. She was back to fight in 2017 and faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by a unanimous vote. She went on to defeat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. The promotion ended in 2018 to join Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina showed off her slashing skills by knocking out Nievera by knees. Antonina was offered a UFC offer after her victory. Antonina Shychenko debuted for the UFC in the TUF Heavy Hitters finals, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko won the fight by unanimous decision, but she lost her next fight against Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. This earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record during her subsequent three matches, winning over Ariane Lipski while losing to Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina lost her last fight to Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
